PUNTA MÉDICA COLLECTION

The art collection displayed in Punta Médica hospital was established in 2024. To this date, it includes the works from 12 Mexican artists working with the themes of healing, body and body perception, and mind-body relationship.

Care and empathy are at the center of the collection’s philosophy. Be it interventions of the classical paintings by Fabián Ugalde, paradisical motifs of Patrick Pettersson, or abstract works of Pedro Magaña or Ruth Aragón, human beings remain a central subject through all of the works. Occupying both public and private spaces of the hospital, the collection offers a variety of perspectives on how we experience healing, communication, cognition, and care through our bodies. Gathering sculptures, paintings, and prints, Punta Medica Collection emphasizes the holistic function of art, and the importance of the visual environment for well-being. With this approach in mind, a team of gallerists, curators, and architects chose a specific location for each artwork. The placement provides a space for dialogue between art, space, and the visitors of the hospital, creating infinite possibilities for meaningful reflection.

This short guide is a curated collection of art mediations, providing insights into the creative processes of each artist represented in the collection.
